One of the people that I work with recently asked a series of questions about what people were reading.

What [book] has your attention? At a recent Sr. IT Ops meeting, the CIO mentioned Star Wars, Episode III - Revenge of the Sith; I am currently reading this book.

What are your top 5 books? This answer would change depending on my mood. Off the top of my head, the list would include three biographies, one science fiction and a novel:

• The Rise of Theodore Roosevelt by Edmund Morris ;
• Lindbergh by Scott Berg;
• The Chief by David Nasaw;
• Great Sky River by Gregory Benford; and,
• For Whom the Bell Tolls by Ersnet Hemingway.

What is on the nightstand right now? I typically keep a large pile of books so that when I finish something I can pick up something else right away. The stack currently includes:

• Personal Memoirs of U.S. Grant (reportedly the best of the presidential autobiographies);
• Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas (I bought it after Hunter S. Thompson died in February);
• 'Tis by Frank McCourt (sequel to Angela's Ashes);
• Reflex by Steven Gould (sequel to Jumper);
• The Phoenix Exultant by John C. Wright (sequel to an interesting science fiction novel called the Golden Age);
• Holy Blood, Holy Grail;
• Citizen Hughes by Michael Drosin;
• The Bourne Ultimatum by Robert Ludlum;
• Antarctica by Kim Stanley Robinson;
• Chasm City by Alastair Reynolds;
• Lethe by Tricia Sullivan;
• Tom Clancy's Power Plays: Wild Card by Jerome Preisler;
• Across Realtime by Vernor Vinge; and,
• True Names and the Opening of the Cyberspace Frontier by Vernor Vinge.

What is the best book you’ve ever read? I can not pick just one book... There is a list of everything that I have read in the last ten plus years on-line.
