Jack and I went to the March 2007 meeting of his Cub Scout Pack. The program included a Father-Son Cake Bake Competition and the presentation of a number of awards. Jack finally got his Wolf and Bobcat badges, a gold arrow point and two silver arrow points. He got his pinewood derby trophies for finishing 1st in his den and having the fastest car in the pack. Finally, he got patches for the pinewood derby and Christmas caroling in December.
We did not place in the cake competition. Nevertheless, you could donate your cake for everyone to eat at the end of pack meeting. Probably due to the fact that it was a chocolate cake with chocolate icing, the boys tore into it. While the other cakes had a couple pieces eaten, Jack's was almost completely gone. Jack suggested that he should have gotten some award for the tastiest cake!
