Leading 70 to 58 halfway through the third quarter, the Kings fell apart. By the end of the third quarter, the Wizards led by a score of 82 to 79.
Former King Daruis Songaila scored 7 points in the last 59 seconds to seal the victory for the Wizards.
Both Artest and Martin played well. Ron Artest had 28 points for the Kings on 10 for 22 from the field and 7 for 7 from free throw line. Kevin Martin 25 points on 6 for 11 from the field and 12 for 14 from the charity line.
